We just wanted to thank you for a great weekend. We finally arrived home at 3am (5am Turkey time) after a pretty intensive day! That said we are massively excited about becoming owners of a property in Kalkan.
We were really impressed by the level of attention we were afforded whilst in Kalkan. Even though we had a very modest budget, we felt we were getting the same level of attention as someone who may have spent GBP500k. Also there was no hard sell or pushing for a sale, which made us feel at ease.
We are now looking forward to going out in June and hope to see you both (Aykut/Ozkan) again and maybe have a drink. Melanie has been constantly thinking about furniture and curtains etc! We hope to have it all completed and fully kitted out for a visit in August.

We went on an inspection trip in December 2010. The staff from My Place Overseas were extremely helpful and made the property trip enjoyable. We would particularly like to thank Amy, who set up the trip for us and dealt with the UK side of things, and Aykut who showed us around the properties in Turkey and was great company to be with.
Aykut spent the time to show us the areas around Fethiye, Calis and Ovacik and it was great to have someone with local knowledge, who could answer all our questions. We would definitely recommend My Place Overseas to others wishing to purchase a property. We are still in the process of purchasing the property and hoping that it goes as well as the inspection trip.

Just wanted to let you know about my experience of buying a property through My Places Overseas in Kalkan.
Your representative Ozkan was absolutely brilliant with the whole process of the transaction in Kalkan. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was at all times, a thorough gentleman. He stepped us through all the legalities, helped tremendously with choosing of furniture etc and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone, should they be looking for property in Kalkan. Your Fethiye staff were also very impressive and lets hope that this level of services continues to the end of the purchase.

After a day back at work to help us recover from the busy weekend in Fethiye, I wanted to thank you and your team for organising the viewing trip for us. Although it was very busy and tiring, it did give us a great insight into the property market in Fethiye.
Omer did a really good job of showing us a wide range of properties, and also different areas of the town that confirmed to us where we would, and would not, like to be. And after he had a good look through my list of properties and my file of detail printouts, he was able to take us to see most of those too. Indeed it was apparent that other agents had nothing else left to show us; Omer had already shown us two of the properties from their list and we ruled out the third because we knew by then that its location wasn't right for us.
I know Omer was disappointed not to have found the perfect property for us during this visit, but he and Aykut, as well as we ourselves, do now have a really good idea of what we're looking for. We're not in a rush, but we’ll happily jump on the plane again when Omer has something to show us that meets the (admittedly pretty tight) constraints and preferences that we've discussed with him.
We look forward to hearing about whatever he finds in due course.

I would like to take this opportunity in thanking you and all your staff both here in England and in Turkey for the way you have looked after myself and my brother-in-law in our search for a holiday property in Turkey.
I can honestly say and more importantly recommend that anyone who is contemplating purchasing a property abroad, who also may be a little apprehensive, to contact www.myplaceoverseas.com where they will be given a first class service. When we were looking over the internet there were numerous companies that we contacted and that are no doubt very good with the clients but as we chose to deal with yourselves and bare in mind this was to be our first visit to turkey every detail was covered right from when we asked you to book our trip, having been through the viewing and purchasing process I have looked back at the 4 day schedule that was planned for us with meticulous detail.
Nothing was left out to make sure we found the property that suited our criteria. We must give a special mention to your estate agent based in turkey he was the key to our successful visit he took care of absolutely everything from the viewing schedule right through to taking us around the stores to look for furniture for the apartment we bought. As you know we looked hard at Kas, Kalkan and Sovalye Island off Fethiye. Our reasons for selecting Sovalye for our first investment were -
- It's a unique opportunity and an affordable way of being front line to the sea.
- Its beauty and peace are coupled with having a thriving town nearby and we felt that off season especially the access to life is a good antidote to the peace and beauty of the Island.
- boat access also has its appeal over having to always use the car for shopping etc we plan to keep a small boat on the Island.
- Whilst the plots are smaller than mainland of course the 50m or so that run down to the sea and jetty is effectively garden and the slope is not nearly as steep as you see in Kalkan or Kas, so sea access is really good.
- Rental opportunity is also good and its unique nature means a higher yield potential especially from the specialists. I think that this season there are no Villas to rent on the Island and so the lead agents are very keen to fill the void and I am predicting a GBP40k potential for 24 weeks based on early discussions.
- The views, sunset and summer breeze all make the two plots available a good location.
Hope this is helpful. I think we know the market and the pros and cons pretty well and happy to share that experience if appropriate.
